NOISE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM CONTROLLER, NMSC

DESCRIPTION

The noise measurement system controller NMSC is provided with the NMS mainframe. The NMSC controls all

the measurement modules that are plugged in to the mainframe.

The NMSC has a spectral analysis capability from DC to 40 MHz and contains dual-channel spectrum analysis

allowing the measurement of signals that are buried in the system noise floor. The front panel has a 6.4 inch,

color touch-screen display. All functions of the measurement system are available through a touch screen on the

display. An external keyboard, a larger display monitor and a printer can also be connected to the controller.

Remote measurements or monitoring are possible using an Ethernet connection.

The NMSC comes standard with an Ethernet port, RS-232, and USB. Remote control of measurements and

display of data is available with an optional WLAN adapter. The measurement system software has been

designed to hide the complexity of noise analysis and provide an intuitive user friendly interface. Access and

control to all measurement system settings is provided for the experienced user through lower level menus.

The NMSC may be used to control the following:

Delay line modules: DL-1, DL-2

Noise source module: NS-3
